Our Story

I’ve spent the past decade as an Executive Assistant—the person everyone turns to when they need an idea, a solution, or a touch of magic. So when a friend needed the perfect gift for his high-profile client, he came to me.

He had just fitted beautiful lighting in the clients home bar, so I suggested hand-painted bottles of alcohol—something personal, meaningful, and unique to celebrate the space.

Everything was perfect—until the plan took an unexpected turn...

Slightly panicked and trying to figure out a solution, my mum casually dropped the line that changed everything: “Why don’t you just do it yourself? You could paint the bottles!”

So I did. One quick Amazon order for paints, and three painted bottles later, the client was blown away — she asked to share my 'business' on Instagram...

The client? Amanda Holden.
The only problem? Bottle and Brush didn’t exist yet.

Cue a Friday night in the pub: a name scribbled on a napkin, a brand-new Instagram page with a single lonely photo, a serious dose of imposter syndrome, and the thought: “Why not - I've got nothing to lose, right?”

By Sunday morning, my bottle was in front of Amanda’s 2.6 million followers. By 3pm we had over 3,000 followers and over fifty orders. And just like that, Bottle and Brush was born.

What started as a happy accident has turned into a journey I never could have imagined—full of learning, creativity, connection, and a love for what I do. Every bottle I paint still carries the same spark of curiosity, care, and bold “yes” that got me started. Bringing your ideas and special moments to life is what gives me real purpose.

Sometimes the best businesses don’t begin with a business plan—they begin with a mess, a nudge, and a leap of faith.

And so, a few thank-you's are in order: to my mum—for giving me her creative flare, and for helping me navigate this whirlwind; to Amanda—for championing me since before day one, generously sharing her platform, and changing my life overnight; to Andy—the friend who asked for that very first gift and unknowingly sparked the whole adventure; and finally, to every single client who has placed an order and sent me the kindest words —you’ve made Bottle and Brush what it is today.
